I’M BACK

I’m sorry to have been away so long but my two months of radiation treatments didn’t coincide very well with my walking. A big thank you goes out to those of you who have been pulling for me to end up “cancer free”. While we won’t know for sure for another year and a half I truly am optimistic!

I started walking again this week and it’s kind of slow going. The good news is that I’m doing it and enjoying it a lot. Unfortunately the photo-opp’s haven’t been all that great.

I did manage to get a couple photos for your enjoyment. Hopefully there will be many more to come.

As you know I never get tired of photographing the Coupeville Wharf and I’ll start you back up with a new one.

On the other side of the island the Olympic Mountains were standing tall with lots of snow on them.

Have a wonderful day and keep checking back, I love having you walk with me.

  1. Dear Mr. Bloomquist,
My name is Don Kelly and I come from Wichita, KS, home of McConnell Air Force Base, among other things.
I know that you were stationed there during your military service. I also know something about prostate cancer
as I underwent 9 weeks of radiation treatment in 2006 ending on November 12, 2006….so far, PSA tests are
negative and all is well….My prayers are for you and your recovery and for your family. Thanks for all you do
to delight your viewers like me.
    Love and Prayers,

  2. Kenny, I am glad to see you back in action. It will be slow for a few months for sure, but you are out there walking. Good for you. My brother-in-law had the same problem 2 years ago and is doing well with surgery only. Did not need RadTx.
    Nice photos today, thank you.
    Best, Mike

  3. Hi there,

I am so glad you are back and doing well. I really missed your beautiful pictures and commentary. I am a friend of Al Olsey from California and I tell him how much I appreciate your pictorial blog. I have visited Coupeville and fell instantly in love with this beauful area. Thank you for sharing and take care of yourself. I look forward to many years of great pictures.

  4. Hey Ken,
    Glad you are back.
Want to say that I have followed you from the early days of the RunnerDuck newsletter and have enjoyed your newsletters and now these posts.
Praying for a complete recovery for you. Also for Marilyn and the rest of your family.
Your attitude is so positive and the fact that you get daily exercise and relaxation will go a long way toward healing you and keeping you healthy.
Thanks again for the years and years of fun and enjoyment.
    Warm regards,
    Diane
