I did not walk this morning but yesterday we took my sister Diane, from Spokane, on a little tour of the surrounding area. These are the photos from that tour.
The day started with breakfast at the Spinnaker B&B where Diane was staying. This was the view of Coupeville from their front yard looking across Penn Cove. The photo is a panorama so if you click on the picture you’ll be able to see it better.
Our first stop was Three Sisters Market where they sell only local produce, jam and jellies, gift item and much more including their own beef from their island farm. These strawberries really looked good.
Next stop the Pottery Gallery. They sell all kinds of art along with beautiful pottery. Since we like to go camping I thought this camper was pretty neat.
From there we went to the Lavender Wind Farm. The lavender fields were pretty spent for the year but they were distilling lavender into “Lavender Oil”. Man-o-man did it smell good around there!
Oh “JOY”! I spotted this driftwood sign out in one of their lavender fields.
After lunch we stopped by Ishler Pottery in Oak Harbor and checked out his wares. One of the interesting things he does is make ceramic trophies for car winners at the Harold LeMay auto museum in Tacoma. Here are some waiting in the wings.
We wrapped up the day with dinner at the Keystone Cafe near the Coupeville Ferry Landing. We were blown away with a surprise visit from my daughter Jenni and the “Fam”. A good time was had by all 🙂
Thanks for touring the area with me. I’ll share some more “Artsy” type photos I took with my new camera tomorrow.
