WELCOME DAVID – June 15, 2015

How about this, I got the garden wrapped up and went walking for a change. And change there was!! First of all, Toby’s Tavern remodel is coming along quite nicely. I love the new awning and the beautiful siding and windows.

Walking out on the Coupeville Wharf I spotted several things that I felt need documenting. My old buddy “Frank” the Great Blue Heron was on his favorite perch.

Closer to the building I saw my neighbor parked at the front door. He had a ladder on his roof because he was removing some things from the store at the end of the wharf called “Local Grown”.

I love his old Volkswagen and looked great against the red paint of the building.

Around the corner I caught these fisherman “gigging” for Sun Perch. They use them for bait to catch ling cod. Their dog seemed quite interested in this whole process.

For all their efforts, here is their bounty.

And finally, a big welcome to David, the new owner of Local Grown. He purchased the business from William who has successfully run it for the past eight years.

David and his wife used to live in Coupeville but moved to Oregon a number of years ago. They have been looking for an opportunity to move back and this was it. So welcome back and wishing you good success in your new endeavor.

Thanks for walking with me and I hope you join me again soon.

  1. This was really nice about your town. Looks like a nice place to visit. Have any more photos on your Farmers Market?
