Well hello boys and girls! I know it’s hard to believe but I’m still here. I’ve been busy with my two main projects, building a teardrop camping trailer from scratch and restoring my 1960, Series I, Sunbeam Alpine, sports car. Neither one of them is done but I needed a break and what better way to take a break then walking. So get your shoes on and let’s go.
We’ll only walk about two and a half miles this morning, down through town, up through the Coupeville Town Park and back home.
The first thing to show you is the new roof on the Captain Joseph Clapp house. If you remember the old roof had a couple of holes that were letting rain in. Well, thanks to the “Ebey’s Forever Historic Preservation Grant Program” the new roof was installed and the old Clapp house should be preserved for another 131 years.

Going through town I saw that they were finally making some great progress restoring the old “Mad Crab” restaurant building that was housed in the old 1866 Robertson’s Store building. It’s no longer going to be the “Mad Crab” but instead there will be shops and other businesses.
Walking up the trial to the Town Park a Great Blue Heron scared the crap out of me as it took flight with great fanfare, squawking and yelling all the way. It landed in another tree where I had this great peek-a-boo view of it.
On the way back home I spotted this beautiful trawler anchored out on Penn Cove with more of Whidbey Island in the far shore. Oh what a beautiful morning!
Thank you so much for walking with me today. I’ll really try to do more walking in the future. I know how much you enjoy our walks and It’s really good for me.
See you soon and keep walking!
Runnerduck, I am glad you are still with us !!!
You know what Al, so am I 🙂 I hope to bump into you one of these days and I promise not to knock you down!
SO glad to see you–and see through your lens–again! It’s always a pleasure. (And I was beginning to worry a bit.)
Thank you for your comments and concern but all is well here in my wee island town.
I’m in town too. Just up the hill from the boat launch, but hadn’t seen you.
We must be back door neighbors. Do you live on Otis?
Well Kenny good to see you are still with us. I and others were starting to worry about you .
Good to have you back . More bounce to that rubber duck ?
Take Care
Bill Richardson
Thanks Bill! There’s actually more “bounce” in a Runnerduck than a Rubber Duck 😉
Great to hear from you again……you were missed in Newington,Ontario.. Keep well!
Thank you Brian, I missed you guys as well.
So glad you are back! I live in Texas…but long for Whidbey. I’ve made it back 3 summers in a row…til this one. 😦 so I look forward to your walks. They make me smile! Thank you.
