COUPEVILLE TOWN PARK – January 24, 2017

This morning was gray with very flat light meaning poor pictures. But all you fellow walkers seem to enjoy seeing different things around and about my wee island village.

I’m sure that almost every town in these United States have town parks so today I took pictures of our Town Park because I think it’s something to be proud of.

The first thing that greets you as you approach the park is this big slice of an old tree estimated to be well over 700 years old.

There is a nice big kitchen that can be reserved and used along with a bunch of picnic tables. The Coupeville Lions Club are refurbishing it getting it ready for this summer. The Lions Club always has a huge salmon bake each summer.

There’s a nice little playground for the kiddies and in the background you can see the restrooms, which are very nice, as well as the tennis court.

And like many parks we have a bandstand. Well not “just” a bandstand it’s a “huge” bandstand. It’s a wonderful venue for summer music concerts which happen every year.

I did walk out toward Ebey Prairie just to add a few more miles to our walk and by golly, despite the poor light, I got a couple of pretty good photographs of this old barn. It’s on the property where they process all the mussels from the Penn Cove Mussel Farm. You can certainly tell which side of the barn faces south.

And with that I’ll cut you lose. Have a wonderful day and thanks for walking with me, you’re the best!
