I’m sorry to have been gone for the past couple of days after just getting going again but I’ve had “CSS” (Can’t See Squat) [the family friendly term :-)]. On Tuesday I had a cataract removed from my left eye. Just two weeks ago they did my right eye. While it think it will be a big improvement in the long run, for now I CSS!
That makes it really difficult to find and photograph interesting things during my walks. I walked 3 1/2 miles yesterday and did the same thing again today. The following is all I had to show for my efforts. I hope you find my photos interesting.
I noticed this sign, for the first time, that’s posted on Highway 20.
So what’s so special about that? It’s pointing the wrong directions! Here’s a Google satellite photo with this sign transposed over it. Go figure.
I saw another sign in the window of Aqua Gifts that I like and says a lot.
Aqua Gifts is a really nice store in Coupeville. If you’re ever in town be sure to check it out. It’s in the old 1890 “Puget Race Drug Store” building.
Out on the wharf today was the 1931 cruise ship Discovery. It’s a beautiful old 87 foot yacht that is available for hire through Discovery Journeys. I tried to imagine what it must have looked like docking in Coupeville back in 1931 and here’s what I came up with.
Now go have a great weekend and we’ll walk some more on Monday!
