This morning’s walk was sort of odd in that I really didn’t find anything inspirational to photograph. It’s was a beautiful morning and the sun was out so that alone made it all worth while.
One photo I took turned out really well but you can’t tell my cat, Miss Kitty Kitty. She’d be so jealous! I don’t know who’s cat this is but it sure did pose pretty in front of the grasses.
While I consider myself a fair landscape photographer but I’m not very good at still life. I took this because I really like these plants and all the various stages it goes through as they bloom.
So that’s it! 2 3/4 miles of fresh air and sunshine, perfect. Maybe we’ll see more tomorrow as we walk along together.
Welcome to the last week of October, hard to believe that the month is already gone, my my how they do fly.
I’ve been leaving later and later each morning because the sun is not coming up until almost 8:00am. This morning I looked out the window at 7:35 and saw some pink in the clouds to the east. I wondered to myself if it would turn into anything. A few minutes later it started to ignite. I scrambled to get on my walking shoes and coat, grabbed my camera and out the door. By that time it was at its peak so I quickly snapped a shot from my driveway. This should give you an idea of what it looked like.
I walked as fast as I could to get down to the cove before it all went away. By the time I got there, one and a half blocks away, it was pink. I managed to get two more photos before it was gone. This is Mt. Baker with a little hint of the bright morning sun near the right side of the peek.
Down on the cove is one of my favorite houses. I call it “Popeye’s House” because it looks like place he might have lived. It was really pretty with the pink water in the foreground.
I did manage to fine one more scarecrow that’s presented by Toby’s Tavern. The reference to is to them movie “Practical Magic” which was filmed in Coupeville back in 1998.
I stopped to check our my “still life” again this morning and the flowers were gone but the pumpkin and apples still made for a nice photo.
Have a great week and with any luck we’ll walk again tomorrow.
I’m sorry to have been MIA the last few days but events and weather got in the way. But this morning I managed to get in a nice three and a half mile walk and you got to go with me!
First up, two photos of the Olympic Mountains with fresh snow on them. Mr friend “Al Thewalker” told me that there was no snow on them Wednesday when he walked around Ebey Prairie. I suppose it’s a sign of things to come.
I thought I had found all the “scarecrows” around Coupeville but discovered one more. This 3D painting was in front of the Pacific Northwest Art School. It’s the “Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”.
I discovered another juxtaposition with what appears to be a rose growing on a holly bush, hum?
I’m not into “still life” photography but this setting by the Windjammer Gallery and Custom Framing really caught my attention. I’m really pleased with how it came out and hope you enjoy it as well.
With that I’ll wrap up this week and move on to the weekend. I hope you have a great weekend as well and will come walk again with me next week.
