Welcome to June! This was the first walk of the month and I almost got rained on. It was sunny when I left the house and 2 1/2 miles later, just as I walked into the house, the skies opened up, whew!
Signs tell us a lot about our communities and Coupeville is no exception. This morning I noticed several new signs. First up we have a new restaurant. It used to be the “Mosquito Fleet Restaurant”, then it changed hands a couple of times and this morning I see that it’s now “The Lower Loft Eatery”. It’s beneath “Whidbey Isle Yarns” and “Far From Normal” on Front Street.
Here’s a better view of it from the Coupeville Wharf. We’ll have to give it a try and report back to you.
Speaking of the wharf, there’s a new sign there as well showing all the interesting things you’ll find out on the wharf. It’s a very popular tourist stop.
And there are signs of growth all around town. One example is this lot on Front Street that has been vacant for many years, but that’s about to change. A sign has been posted showing that there is going to be a huge home, with a separate garage that will have an apartment, is to be built on this lot.
Here’s the lot from a Google birds eye view.
And this is what it will look like.
I’ll keep you posted as it progresses. Sometimes these things take a while so be patient.
Thanks for joining me today and if the rain stays away we may just do this again tomorrow. Have a great week ahead!
